McCrometer CONNECT Weather Stations Help UC Davis Researchers Control Grape Powdery Mildew
McCrometer CONNECT Weather Stations Help UC Davis Researchers Control Grape Powdery Mildew

Powdery Mildew is a serious and persistent fungal disease that effects wine grape, table grape, and raisin vineyards. One of the most effective tools developed to date to combat this disease is the UC Davis Gubler-Thomas Grape Powdery Mildew (GPM) model. Dr. Gubler’s GPM model helps growers predict the onset of disease and sporulation by the pathogen so that growers can proactively treat for the disease without wasting resources. Accurate weather data is critical for developing the model for grape powdery mildew. Dr. Gubler and his Team have been using McCrometer CONNECT wireless field stations and sensors since 1995.

New Method for Accurate High Reynolds Metering Uses Water Calibration for Significant Cost Savings

By Nick Voss
V-Cone Product Manager

To maintain accuracy, cone type differential pressure (dP) flow meters need to be calibrated to determine the discharge coefficient (Cd). The Cd often changes with Reynolds number. McCrometer has developed a method that predicts the Cd at high Reynolds numbers based on a water calibration at small Reynolds numbers.

Don’t Let Valves Come Between You and
Accurate Flow Measurement
By Jim Panek
Product Manager, Water & Wastewater

With its self-conditioning design, the V-Cone Flow Meter can be placed in relative close proximity to valves, which frequently cause flow disturbances that affect the accuracy and repeatability of other flow measurement technologies.

Water Alternating Gas Injection System Requires
Compact Flow Measurement Solution
By Nick Voss
Product Manager

A major oil/gas producer in the Southeastern U.S. who was implementing enhanced oil recovery (EOR) technology with a water alternating gas (WAG) system installed the V-Cone Flow Meter to measure both the carbon dioxide CO2 gas and the water required by the process.
