How to Select the Right Mining Flow Meter

What media are you measuring?

The type of flow media is a major factor in choosing the right flow meter. For pure water applications, propeller meters are a good option, as electromagnetic meters won’t be able to obtain an accurate reading. For slurry applications, a full-bore mag meter is ideal to withstand the harsh, corrosive flow media. For steam, gas, and fuel applications, the V-Cone provides superior, long-term performance.

What are your process conditions?

Factors such as temperature, pressure, available straight-run, and more can affect your meter selection. Knowing your process conditions and surrounding pipeline equipment can help narrow down your metering options.

What are your flow measurement goals?

Understanding your flow data requirements and project goals will assist you with meter selection. There are a variety of communication protocols, system integrations, electronics, and features you’ll need to factor into your decision.
