Various Services Provided by McCrometer 

 

Field Services

1 Day On-Site Startup Support
This service is for customers who would like a McCrometer Technical Representative to be on-site to assist or supervise the installation and start-up of their flow meter. Start-up services include assistance with the installation of flow meters, verification of proper set-up/operation, diagnostic, and troubleshooting. On-site training is available during startup upon request. This service is only available with the purchase of a new meter. Maximum quantity of meters that can be installed in one day is 5.
1 Day On-Site Service Support
This service is for customers who would like a McCrometer Technical Representative to visit their site. Services offered, but not limited to, are site application reviews, meter commissioning, meter repair, diagnostic, troubleshooting, and site personnel trainings. On-Site Service price does not include parts needed to perform repairs and will be sold separately at list price. Price is on a per-day rate. Hourly rates are available for local visits.

Service Level Agreements (SLA)

Level 1
A preventative maintenance agreement that provides the customer with one factory recommended checkup & verification per year. Parts are not included in this agreement. Price is for one meter per year. This program requires a minimum of 4 meters to qualify. This includes all travel arrangements and expenses.
Level 2
A preventative maintenance agreement that provides everything in  Level1 and includes the cost of any repair parts that might be needed during the preventative maintenance visit. Price is for one meter per year. This program requires a minimum of 4 meters to qualify. This includes all travel arrangements and expenses.
Level 3
A preventative maintenance agreement that provides everything in Level 2 and includes the cost of one additional visit for corrective maintenance if not correctable remotely. Price is for one meter per year. This program requires a minimum of 4 meters to qualify. This includes all travel arrangements and expenses.

Factory Services

Evaluation
Evaluation of meter, charged by the quarter hour for time required to provide a diagnostic evaluation for a return
Cleaning
Cleaning of one flow meter, flat rate cleaning fee for meters that are received and not ready to be handled
Additional Labor
Additional labor, fees charged by the quarter hour for time required to remove and handle third party equipment

Recalibration

Factory Calibrations are often requested on an annual basis for compliance with local regulations, and provide comfort that the metering package is in good working condition. The factory recommends recalibration of all meters on a regular basis to ensure the highest level of accuracy and reliability. Services available for these flow meters:
  • FPI Mag - forward test only
  • FPI Mag - forward and reverse test
  • SPI Mag
  • V-Cone

Meter Support - Service Recalibration

Factory calibrations are often requested on an annual basis for compliance with local regulations, and provide comfort that the metering package is in good working condition. The factory recommends recalibration of all meters on a regular basis to ensure the highest level of accuracy and reliability. Price includes a professional cleaning service and a five point calibration with certificate. Recalibration is available for these flow meters:

Meter Repair Program for Water Specialties

Water Specialties meters returned for serviceThe Meter Repair Program (MRP) for Water Specialties propeller meters provides customers with a quick, simple flat-rate program for getting meters repaired,  updated to the latest design, and accuracy tested.

The program is available for all models of Water Specialties propeller meters and transmitters. The MRP price includes a complete meter rebuild, three-point flow test, and recalibration. Additionally, meters repaired under the MRP carry a full one-year warranty.

All meters serviced under the MRP program will be rebuilt with the latest design features of each component. Additionally, you can opt-in to have the factory convert your meter from mechanical to digital, incorporating the FlowCom digital register, or upgrade to FlowConnect, McCrometer’s telemetry unit.

The program includes inspection, and/or replacing the following parts:

  • Propeller Assembly – replaced with new
  • Stainless Steel Separator Assembly – replaced with new
  • Miter Gear Frame Assembly – replaced with new
  • Vertical Shaft – inspected, replaced if damaged
  • Vertical Shaft Collar & Bearing Assembly - replaced with new
  • O-Ring Seals – replaced with new
  • Register Bonnet – replaced with new
  • Register – inspected, cleaned, and calibrated. Replaced if damaged or pre-1998 design
  • Meter Change Gears – replaced with new
  • Meter Head – inspected, cleaned, and repainted. Replaced if necessary
  • Gearbox – inspected and cleaned. Replaced if necessary
