McCrometer, Inc. Announces McMag2000 Extended Line Sizes

Hemet, Calif. – April 27th, 2021 – McCrometer, Inc., a globally recognized flow meter manufacturer, recently announced extended line sizes for the McMag2000TM flow meter.

Launched in February 2020 at the World Ag Expo, the McMag2000 was designed for the agriculture, irrigation, and water industries and is best suited to applications such as center pivot systems, surface water measurement, well monitoring, and more.

Post-launch, customers seeking metering solutions for applications in irrigation and surface water districts expressed interest in adopting the McMag2000 for 14-inch and 16-inch pipelines, declaring the meter’s overall low cost of ownership, ±2% accuracy, and easy DIY installation and maintenance as valuable and desirable benefits.

“McCrometer’s engineers produced custom line-size meters for specific irrigation districts, and those 14-inch and 16-inch meters turned out to be in high demand for both new and retrofit projects,” explains senior product manager Aimee Davis. “We pride ourselves on listening to our customers and providing metering solutions that fit their flow projects.”

A 14-inch McMag2000 manufactured for a surface water application, featuring the easily identifiable larger saddle.

This line size extension is announced a year after McCrometer began field testing larger units and gathering customer insights and performance data. The 14-inch and 16-inch McMag2000 meters offer the same features and benefits as the smaller units, only identifiable through a bigger saddle accommodating larger pipelines. The McMag2000 is an ideal flow meter for any flow project measuring water and not requiring a feature-rich meter such as McCrometer’s full-bore Ultra Mag®, which offers greater accuracy, smart output options, 4-20mA, remote-mount converter, and more, for a higher price.

“The McMag2000 offers accurate, reliable flow measurement using the technology of a mag meter but with the price tag of a propeller meter,” explains Davis. “The larger the pipeline, the pricier a flow meter investment can become. We’re pleased to provide an economical solution to the market accommodating larger line sizes.”

The 14-inch and 16-inch line size McMag2000 is currently available for purchase through McCrometer dealers and distributors, as well as directly from the factory. For more information on McCrometer meters or to request a quote, visit www.mccrometer.com/ag
